✂️ How to Make a Handmade Card Using a Card Topper

Creating a handmade card is simple, fun, and rewarding. Card toppers give you a professional look in minutes! Follow these easy steps to turn your PDF toppers into beautiful cards:

🖨 Step 1: Print Your Card Toppers

  • Open your PDF file that contains the toppers (you’ll see 4 toppers per page).

  • In your printer settings, select “Actual Size” to ensure the toppers print at the correct dimensions.

  • For the best results, print onto Canon Matte Photo Paper (or similar high-quality cardstock).

Each topper will measure 3.75″ wide x 5″ high when printed correctly.

✂️ Step 2: Cut Out the Toppers

  • Use a paper trimmer (or sharp scissors if you don’t have one) to cut along the edges.

  • Trim carefully to keep the edges straight and neat.

  • Once cut, you’ll have individual toppers ready to mount.

🖇 Step 3: Attach to a Card Base

You have two design options:

Option A: Simple & Clean

  • Use a pre-made blank A2 card (4.25″ x 5.5″).

  • Apply double-sided tape or craft glue to the back of your topper.

  • Center it on the front of the card and press down smoothly.

Option B: Layered Look

  • Cut a mat in a coordinating color measuring 4″ wide x 5.25″ high.

  • Attach your topper to the mat using tape or glue.

  • Then, mount the layered piece onto your blank A2 card.

  • This adds extra color, depth, and a polished finish.

🎉 Step 4: Embellish (Optional)

  • Add ribbons, gems, or die-cut shapes for extra flair.

  • Use a white gel pen or metallic marker to add borders or doodles.

  • Try foam adhesive squares instead of tape for a raised, 3D effect.
